Pulmonology is the medical specialty dealing with diseases of the lungs and the respiratory tract. Pulmonology is concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of lung diseases, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), chronic bronchitis and asthma, as well as secondary prevention of diseases such as Tuberculosis.
Our Pulmonologist, Wayne Beauford, M.D., provides diagnostic treatment for respiratory diseases and sleep apnea. He uses a variety of invasive and non-invasive diagnostic techniques to help his patients improve their respiratory function. He focuses not only on treatment, but prevention of debilitating lung disease. Dr. Beauford also specializes in Critical Care Medicine when dealing with patients that require mechanical intensive hospital care.
