Wayne Beauford, M.D. - Pulmonology

Doctor Wayne Beauford received his Bachelor of Science degree from Claflin College before attending Meharry Medical College, where he received his Medical degree. He continued his education by completing an Internal Medicine Internship and Residency at Martin Luther King General Hospital. In addition, Doctor Beauford completed a Pulmonary Medicine Fellowship at Martin Luther King General Hospital and a Critical Care Medicine Fellowship at Long Beach Veteran Administration. A Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Internal Medicine, Doctor Beauford is professionally affiliated with the Old North State Medical Society, North Carolina Respiratory Care Board, Community Clinic of High Point (Board Member), Hospice of Piedmont (Medical Director), High Point Regional Hospital Pulmonary Rehabilitation (Medical Director) and High Point Regional Hospital Respiratory Care (Medical Director).



Anthony Wheeler, M.D. - Neurology & Chronic Pain Management

Dr. Anthony Wheeler is board-certified with over 30 years of experience in neurology and chronic pain management. Dr. Wheeler completed his undergraduate studies and earned his medical degree at UNC-Chapel Hill. He continued his training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas and completed a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology at Duke University. His professional affiliations include the American Academy of Neurology, the American Academy of Pain Medicine, and the North American Spine Society.



Lenny J. Peters, M.D., M.R.C.P. - Gastroenterology

Doctor Lenny Peters, President and CEO of Bethany Medical, received his Medical degree from Baptist Hospital, Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University. He completed a two-year fellowship in Gastroenterology and a three year internal medicine residency program. Dr. Peters founded the Bethany practice in 1987 and has since expanded it into a multi-specialty physician group including a state of the art endoscopy center. He is Board Certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. He also serves on the Medical Staff at High Point Regional.




Yun Sun, M.D. - Internal Medicine

Doctor Sun earned his Medical Degree at Henan Medical University in Zhengzhou, Henan, China. He also completed Postgraduate education at Wright State University, School of Medicine, and Internal Medicine residency in Dayton, Ohio. Doctor Sun is board certified in Internal Medicine since 1995.

Cheryl A. Vernon, M.D. - Family Medicine

Doctor Vernon received her undergraduate degree in Chemistry from High Point University and earned her Doctorate of Medicine at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC. She completed her residency at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Doctor Vernon brings with her 25 years of experience practicing medicine. Doctor Vernon is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

Doctor Vamsee Paruchuri is board certified in Internal Medicine and has over 10 years' experience practicing medicine. He received his medical degree from Sri Ramachandra Medical College & Research Institute in Chennai, India, before continuing his training at The University of Illinois. His professional affiliations include the American College of Physicians, the Society of Internal Medicine, and the American Medical Association.

Doctor Michael Gaither is board certified in Internal Medicine and has over 20 years of experience practicing medicine. He received his medical degree from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa. He has extensive experience working with a diverse range of patients and is committed to providing the highest level of care for his patients.

Following his undergraduate studies in Pharmaceuticals at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Don Bulla completed the Physician Assistance Program at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Licensed by the North Carolina Medical Board and North Carolina Pharmacy Board, he is certified by the National Commissions for Certification for Physician Assistants.



Amanda Taylor, PA-C – Internal Medicine & Gastroenterology

Amanda Taylor attended High Point University for a B.S. in Biology before attending the University of North Carolina, Greensboro, where she received a Master of Public Health Education. She continued at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, where she completed the Physicians Assistant Program. Certified as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission, Amanda Taylor maintains membership with the American Academy of Physician Assistants, North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants and Guilford Physician Extenders.



Patrick Watterson, PA-C - Internal Medicine & Sports Medicine

Serving the Triad since 1995

Patrick Watterson completed his physician assistant studies at the University of Kentucky. He is certified by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants and the National Athletic Trainers Association, and maintains memberships with the American Academy of Physician Assistants, National Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants and the American College of Environmental and Occupational Medicine.

Priya Paruchuri, M.D. - Internal Medicine & Sleep Medicine

Serving the Triad since 2010 

Doctor Priya Paruchuri, MD, went to the Andhra Medical College for undergraduate where she was awarded her medical degree. Her internship and Residency training was completed at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. She went on to complete a Sleep Medicine Fellowship at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Her professional affiliations include the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

Mark Arvind, M.D. - Internal Medicine

Doctor Mark Arvind received both his Undergraduate degree and Medical degree from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College in India prior to completing an Internal Medicine Internship at the University of Minnesota. He also completed numerous residency programs around the world in India, North Wales, the United Kingdom and the United States. Board Certified and a Diplomate in Internal Medicine, Dr. Arvind maintains memberships with the Indian Medical Council and the Karnataka Medical Group.



Karla R. Smith, M.D. - Family Medicine

Doctor Karla Smith received her Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Hampton University in Virginia. She received her medical degree from the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. She completed residency at VCU-Riverside Family Medicine Program in Newport News, Virginia. Doctor Smith is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Doctor Varadarajan is board certified in Primary Care. She graduated from Bangalore Medical College, Bangalore, India in 1996. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Amarillo, TX. Doctor Rupa Varadarajan is fluent in three Indian languages – Kannada, Tamil and Hindi.

Eleanor Greene, M.D. - Women's Health & Gynecology

Dr. Eleanor Greene is board-certified in Gynecology with over 25 years of experience practicing medicine. She received her undergraduate degree in Medical Technology from Wake Forest University before continuing her education at UNC-Chapel Hill, where she earned her Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health degrees. She completed her residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Greene was also appointed to the North Carolina Medical Board in 2011 by Governor Beverly Perdue.

Chad received his undergraduate degree in Athletic Training from Wingate University. From there, he completed the Physician Assistant program at St. John's University in New York City. He is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants as well as the American Heart Association. His affiliations include the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the North Carolina Medical Society.



Juana Diaz, PA-C – Internal Medicine

Juana received her undergraduate degree in Biology from Berea College in Kentucky. She completed the Physician Assistant program at Jefferson College of Health Sciences in Roanoke, Virginia. She is licensed by the North Carolina Medical Board and is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

Raymond Rosario, M.D. - Cardiologist

Dr. Raymond Rosario is board-certified in Cardiovascular Diseases and has over 15 years of experience in Cardiology. He earned his medical degree and completed his residency at the University of Iowa. He also completed a fellowship in Cardiology at the University of Texas at Houston. He is accepting new patients at Bethany Cardiology.

Michael Duran received his ADS in Respiratory Therapy from Manchester Community College before attending Hahnemann Medical University, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree as a Physician Assistant. Certified by National Board of Medical Examiners, Michael Duran is highly skilled to provide you with the highest standard of care. James Szabo, M.D. - Dermatologist

Dr. James Szabo is a dermatologist with over 20 years of experience treating a variety of skin conditions. Dr. Szabo completed his undergraduate studies with honors in biology and chemistry at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He received his medical degree at Columbia University before continuing his training at the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York as well as the University of Chicago Hospitals. Dr. Szabo believes in listening to his patients and completing a thorough analysis before discussing diagnoses and treatments.

Lin Wang, M.D. - Pathologist

Serving the Triad since 2014

Dr. Wang is board-certified by the American Board of Pathology and has over 10 years of experience in Pathology. She received her medical degree from Nanjing Medical University in China and completed her residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. She continued her training by completing a fellowship in Surgical Pathology at East Carolina University. She also has a master’s degree in molecular genetics and biochemistry from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Wang specializes in general surgical pathology, with a special interest in gastrointestinal and skin pathology. She is an elected Fellow of College of American Pathologists. Dr. Wang also received the Cleveland Clinic Innovation Award while she served as a researcher in the Department of Pathology at Cleveland Clinic.
